The Rise and Fall of the Federal Theatre.

The success of  the Historic Federal Theatre right after the economic collapse in the 1930, its enormous contribution with the employment it created for the actors and artists, the interest generated, the social reinforcement it provided through its thought provoking and 'sheer fun' performances during one of America's most difficult times; and the reasons, according to historic reports, of why it was closed down.

Ontology Today: "The New Copernican Revolution"

By
Michael Grady

"Were there two creations instead of the one detailed in Genesis?
It appears that the writings of Christianity, Judaism and Islam point to an
unseen and unexperienced creation "out of nothing", while the creation we are more familiar with exists to redeem every person ever conceived.

But redeemed from what? And how does this fit in with salvation? Angels? Heaven? Demons? Hell?
Why are we here? Could this be a prison planet and the universe, really a "cosmess", and if so, why?
How does ontology theology fit in with reincarnation, rational animal
philosophy and the Big Bang? Not at all, according to Grady. Yet, nearly the entire academic world derives its thoughts and practices from one or more of these theories.

Based on the work of Dr Robert Joyce, Grady's mentor, ontology theology may forever change how you view the world, the entire universe, and our place among all other living things. At the very least, it may shock you to a new
all-encompassing awareness more closely identified with the long-repressed "preconscious". Be ready for the "intellectiscope" shock of your life!

Ontology Theologian Michael Grady has been studying the works of husband-wife team of Dr Robert and Mary Joyce since 1995. In 2010, Joyce wrote the ground-breaking trilogy "God Said Be, We Said Maybe". It is written by a theist but applies to all. According to Grady, these writings may become more important than the works of all the prior Roman Catholic writers combined, including Augustine and Aquinas. Grady has been an Independent Scholar at the Institute held at the  Moline Club since 2004 and lives in Davenport with his wife Lina Grady, and three teenage girls. He is employed as an export consultant with Schafer Fisheries, in Thomson, IL

Social Networking Etiquette”
Is Social Networking Rudeness on the Rise?

By

Mark McLaughlin
Author
Public Relations Director at Results Marketing.

Mark McLaughlin will explore the transgressions of online etiquette in his
presentation. He will provide tips on how to avoid annoying or rude behavior. He
will also provide suggestions on how to nurture positive Internet relationships.
McLaughlin believes that annoying or inconsiderate social networking behavior
is, in part, a product of the fast times in which we live.
“Our culture is passing through a time of brisk technological development,” he
says. “Modern life is changing at a frantic pace – and that’s okay. But as the
world changes, sometimes people concentrate too much on their own objectives and
manners fly out the window – and that’s not okay.”
Because Facebook and other social networks are free, people sometimes feel that
“anything goes” -- but in reality, nothing could be further from the truth.
“Abusing a free service is almost doubly inconsiderate,” he said. “People should
be grateful for the service and treat its other users with respect.

Think about this social networking scenario: Suppose you are an author and some
of your Facebook friends are also authors. But since they write books in the
same genre as your works, they are also competitors. When those authors post ads
for their books on your Facebook page without asking you, are they being rude?

About the presenter :

Throughout his career, Mark McLaughlin has specialized in getting messages out
to business, industry and the general public. Over the years, his writings have
appeared in literally thousands of magazines, trade journals, business
publications, newspapers, anthologies, and websites.

When he is not at his desk at Results Marketing, writing advertising copy and
news releases, he is at home working on his latest book. His 20-plus books
include the supernatural suspense novel MONSTER BEHIND THE WHEEL (co-written
with Michael McCarty), the story collections MOTIVATIONAL SHRIEKER and PICKMAN'S
MOTEL, and the poetry collections THE GOSSAMER EYE (co-written with Rain Graves
and David Niall Wilson), PHANTASMAPEDIA, and PROFESSOR LaGUNGO'S EXOTIC
ARTIFACTS & ASSORTED MYSTIC COLLECTIBLES.
