
Dr.
Lisa Brothers Arbisser
Dr. Lisa Brothers Arbisser was born
in New York City. She attended Princeton University as an
undergraduate and received her Doctor of Medicine degree
with honors from the University of Texas Medical School
at Houston. After a National Institutes of Health Research
Fellowship, Dr. Arbisser served her residency in Ophthalmology
at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She is
board certified in cataract and implant surgery by the American
Board of Eye Surgeons and is completing her second year
as President of the American College of Eye Surgeons
Dr. Arbisser is the chairman of the
board of the Davenport Schools Foundation which during her
tenure as president completed a 3.6 million dollar program
enhancing education in the public schools. She is a third
generation career woman, the daughter of Dr. Joyce Brothers,
and the granddaughter of New York attorney, Estelle Bauer.
She, as well as her husband Dr. Amir Arbisser, a pediatric
ophthalmologist, are founding members of Eye Surgeons Associates,
P.C. The Arbissers have four children.
In 2002, Dr. Arbisser was recognized
by the March of Dimes as a “Woman of Excellence”
for her meaningful contributions to the Quad Cities.
